The new dormitory building (3,600 sqm) will be constructed next to existing boarding school& “Tomchei Tmimim” Yeshiva in Kfar Habad on flat large plot.
The building has beautiful views toward the rural surroundings and faces the “770”- the Rabbi of Lubuvitch icon building and the main synagogue of the village of Habad.
The “L Shape” typology attached to the existing building defines a sun protected courtyard which will be landscaped for the meditating and studying students.
The new Dorm is designed to house 180 students of 18-20 years old, in 60 identical rooms over three stories, while at the ground floor there is a central cooking kitchen for 600 people and laundry room.
Typical floor has large glazed openings to let light in and ventilate the long corridors and thus provide views toward the icon buildings mentioned above.
Currently, the conceptual design is being approved at the city committee and will go forward to design development in of December of 2012.
Breaking ground is planned to July 2013.
